Bagru is known for its mastery in a special printing technique of Resist style called ‘Dabu’ printing. Bagru print is also famous for the use of  two major colours – a red color outline called ‘Began’ and a black colour called ‘Syahi. There are majorly 5 different types of motifs that  are used in Bagru Printing – Flowers & Birds, Tendrils, Trellis or Jaal Designs, Geometrical motifs and human or animal figurative motifs.

Each design of Bagru usually requires a set of several different blocks, including an outline (rekh), a background (gad),and filler  (datta).CHHIPAS- a traditional crafts people who print and design fabrics by hand. They are known for theirunique designs of luxuriant  trellis in sophisticated natural colors.

Bagru is a hand-block printing technique using natural dyes followed by the Chippa Community of Rajasthan. This art of mud resist hand  block printing represents a mix of ethnic and nature inspired designs ranging from bootis and leaves of fruits.
